The last is interesting, indeed! I guess we can assume Harry did well on his potions OWL, then?

I love the last one. How unfair is it that I will be getting the American version?! ::pout:: I just may have to cancel my pre-order and get it next fall when I am back in the UK. Thanks for alerting me.

I was looking all morning for a good picture of the covers and low-and-behold. I'm in absolute awe. Especially over the Brit Adult cover. Wheehoo! More Snape. ^_^

Oh hello btw. I'm silver_osiris, crazied HP fangirl who applauds you for getting these covers.

Wait, can I change my Amamzon order to the British version then? I'd like some grown-up with my underage porn obsession please.

Oh! Thanks for posting these.
*Agrees with everyone that American version looks like poo*
I have been spending so much time hoping against hope they wouldn’t make the writing purple (saw hints around the place). God Damn Purple!
I have a personal issue with purple as my sister is obsessed with it and has COVERED her house in it. After that much purple you'd have an issue too. *twitch twitch*

I love the adult British version, YAY for snarky Snape-ness!

Why is there a Brit Child and Brit Adult version of Harry Potter??

Is the Child one more family-friendly??

Ooooh baby!

I am really distressed by the sudden focus on potions! What if it is Snape? I'll be so upset..

Nah -- it just has a different cover, so adults won't be embarrassed to be seen reading a children's book. It's funny how adults in the US don't seem bothered by that!

For some of the books they do have an 'adult' addition in the US. Mostly its a slightly smaller, more 'normal' sized paperback with a different/no picture. I don't know if they have it for all the books or just the first few.

o.o

hey, thanks for the pictures. July 16th!! What is with that weird green color anyway? I like green, but that's kinda ...weird. ::n.n:: I was thinking of joining lj, but I dunno how, perhaps one day you may bestow your knowledge unto me? ^_^ talk to you soon!

I seriously squealed when I found out the cover art had been released for the 6th book. Thank you for posting better pictures of them! Yay!

Now if only I could figure out which site it would be better to order from and how I'd get the book sent to Japan... I don't want to wait until I get back to the states to read the darn book, even if I do return less than 2 weeks after the release!

I really really hate the fact that as an american I'll be stuck with the green version, I would love the adult or child brit version. They are beautiful. Of course, there will probably be a huge uprising anyway when it comes out. The local zealots will be screaming satanisim again.

That could be why they went with the blander cover for America.

Ok. Maybe I'm weird. I like the US version the best. This must mean that (1) I'm still pretty much a child at heart (2) green isn't a particular squirk for me and (3) as compared to the Brit Children's version, I prefer mysterious and magical looking to comic book flash.

I did think that it was an interesting comment that we US adults didn't seem to have the same problem with carrying around a children's version cover as Brit adults do. It may be that the toned down color of the art has something to do with that.

If you're weird, then I am too. I agree with you on the Brit version, it's too comic book, and the art is just UGLY. The American version is far less busy, and I really just like her version of Harry and Dumbledore more.

I think people just have an aversion to green and purple. lol

Though, I STILL like the Brit Adult version the most of all. But I like simple, and I'm a total bibliophile, so to me, he photograph of that GORGEOUS well-worn book is perfect.
